Day 1: London - Wells - Dartmoor National Park
From London, you'll set off on the adventure. The first stop is the tiny market city of Wells, known for its Gothic cathedral and peaceful Vicar's Close. From Wells, the path will take you from the quaint country lanes of Somerset to the heather and gorse-clad tors of Dartmoor National Park. Before the day is out, you'll enjoy a welcome dinner together.
Day 2:Dartmoor National Park - Port Isaac - Padstow - Falmouth
Today you'll leave Dartmoor for the sheer cliffs of Cornwall's northern coast - starting with a stroll around Port Isaac, the fishing village made famous by the Doc Martin television series. Next, you'll enjoy a leisurely lunch at The Seafood Restaurant - Rick Stein's flagship restaurant in Padstow. Here, you can take your pick from a menu of fresh off-the-boat Cornish seafood and international favorites. Afterwards, t's time to take it easy as you travel further west to Falmouth.
Day 3: Falmouth - St Michael's Mount - St Ives - Falmouth
After a hearty breakfast you'll set off for St Michael's Mount, a tidal island just off the coast of Penzance. In the buzzing village, you'll witness life through the eyes of the islanders. There's also time to explore the medieval castle and gardens, which are brimming with treasures and stories from the past. Next, you'll visit St Ives, one of England's prettiest towns, before moving on to Falmouth, where you can enjoy the evening at your leisure.
Day 4: Falmouth - Tregothnan - Fowey
There's a treat for the green-fingered today: you're off to explore Tregothnan, Cornwall's largest estate and the historic seat of the Boscawen family. A member of the gardening team will give you a private tour of the grounds and the tea plantation, where you'll learn all about the only tea grown in England. You'll even get the chance to sample some local produce. Afterwards, you'll make the way to Fowey, a historic town that hugs the steep banks of the Fowey Estuary, before settling into the hotel and enjoying dinner.
Day 5: Fowey
They have no set plans today, leaving you free to explore Fowey at your leisure.
Day 6: Fowey - Lyme Regis - Hawkchurch
Today you'll make the way along the south Cornish coast with a stop at the fishing village of Polperro before leaving the countryside behind you. After visiting magnificent Buckfast Abbey in south Devon, the road will take you past the green hills and golden sandstone cliffs of Dorset. you'll then continue to Lyme Regis, where you can walk in the footsteps of Jane Austen's heroines. you'll take in the sweeping views of the Jurassic Coast before you end in Hawkchurch and enjoy a farewell dinner together.
Day 7: Hawkchurch - Salisbury - London
The adventure isn't over just yet. The last scenic jaunt takes you along the Old Roman Road to Salisbury, a city set in a landscape of grassy plains and rolling downs. From a town steeped in history to a modern metropolis, you'll then head back to London, where the tour ends.
